Last Sunday I made my 1st visit to The Imperial Pub in about a year; my last visit as well as this one were with the same social Group. At my last visit for my 1st time we were seated in a back room on the main floor which was kind of like a dive bar in appearance and as it was wintertime it was kind of cool in there. This time we were on the 2nd floor which is where I've been at every other previous visit going back more than 6 years except for one time when we were on their fairly nice 2nd floor patio.
The beer selection appears to have improved at the venue; at my 1st 2 or 3 visits I always ordered Waterloo Dark while when we were there on Sunday a friend of mine ordered Nickelbrook's Naughty Neighbour, an IPA (International Pale Ale) beer I quite like too. At my last 2 visits I've ordered their fish & chips to eat which are a good value; I had 1 piece of fish which was only $10 and with the chips was still quite filling. Perhaps because of our Group size we had to go up to the bar to order and pay for our food and drinks; I didn't consider that an inconvenience and my/our food orders came quite quickly.
I would recommend the venue due to the location (central DT and close to the subway) and the size - fairly spacious. It's not particularly upscale but kind of unique in layout, with books, couch seats in addition to chairs and tables and some games to play on the 2nd floor.
