| - Okay, if you guys never trusted anything i reviewed, PLEASE TRUST THIS !!
I purchased the flight with insurance, then my visa was lost at the visa place. Called Air Canada and aero plan or whatever the insurance name is.
Nothing happened. I had to cancel my flight, and rebook it, EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IF ITS PASSPORT VISA YOU WILL BE REIMBURSED. False!
Finally I found another flight, I rebooked it, had to pay $200 rebooking fee and the flight difference.
They offered drinks free of charge everything else you pay for.
My flight had a 13 hour layover. Usually when I fly with a layover, then give you a room, with a shuttle to take you there. Now please keep in mind this was my first (AND LAST TIME) flying Air Canada.
Once I arrived and checked in, that was it. I asked around to see where do I got to get the the hotel, NO WHERE!
You have to get transportation to and from your hotel room, and pay for it! I only found this out after I called the toll free number twice to speak to them. EACH TIME THEY SAID "I'm sorry this is to book a new flight, it's nothing I can do to help"
My first time being in Canada, I was a wreck. I called again to asked to get transferred to someone. She said it's no one to transfer me too. She said just search on google for a room!
Now if you ever been to Montreal, it's no rooms near I was told. The taxi ride is $40 there and back($80) on top of the price of your room. So for an extra $200 this flight was DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT, plus the $700 I paid for this one way.
I searched online and came to an Air Canada thing that says if your flight is more than 6 hours layover, you get a free room if you book a certain type of flight, and a discounted room if it's the other type of flight.
I put in my reference number, only to find out they can't help either. This was because apparently you have to book for the discount a few days in advance. Which I could have done have I would have known.
The customer service was horrible. The leg room for my flight was really little. I'm 5'8 and my knees touched the back of the seat in front of me. When you lay your seat back it still feels like you're sitting straight up.
You can rent an iPad for videos or have your own.
This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life when it xo es to traveling. Especially when you're in a country that's not your own, and you're alone. Who wants to be with out a room, without sleep at 3 in the morning with ALL OF YOUR LUGGAGE WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PICK IT UP?
I couldn't sleep because I had to keep an eye out for my luggage. On a positive note I can say that the flight attendants were nice. And the Apple juice was good ;)
Lastly, I forgot to mention they overbooked and also told us before we checked in that everyone carry on luggage was not going to fit.
So even if you had things of value including laptops and jewelry, you were pretty much led harassed /forced to check
