  • Do about 10 seconds of research & go to a locally owned vet (or just anywhere else). Banfeild Pet Hospital is not a good place to take your precious pet. They are fine, and your pet's not going to die from going there, but they aren't the the lowest cost, they aren't the most caring, they aren't the best, they are mediocre and overpriced. There are so many higher quality & lower priced vets in the area. I originally took my puppy here because I bought a coupon book from PetSmart and there was a free new puppy exam. I had my husband take our new puppy (that was a mistake as it is his first dog) and the convinced him to buy this premium puppy package proclaiming all of the savings, but it's a total rip off, do not fall for it. Here's why: 1. They inflate their prices on the comparison guide, yes that might be how much it costs to get your shots/spay/chip at Banfeild, but it's not how much it costs elsewhere, and you should shop around and you will find the "comparison" prices aren't reasonable. 2. The chip they give you is total crap. I've had multiple animals get chipped at other vets and you don't think that could be any issue, yet it is. My other pets have been chipped with American Kennel Club chip, which has a one time fee, and you get an account online and you can update your info there and it's all good. The chip they sell you at Banfeild is a HomeAgain chip which makes your pay $20 PER YEAR for as long as you want your pet to have coverage, WHAT? That's total crap, no. 3. They aren't there when you really need them, if you're buying the Banfeild Wellness plan, you're hoping that when it's time, and your dog is sick, and you need them, at least at that point they will be there to get your pet some help. NOPE. They are so busy, they don't save daily appointments for emergency use, total crap. I hope that reading this review and doing a few seconds of research helps you avoid the same scam that we fell for. I think my greatest lesson learned from this is shop for all your services, and a little research can save you money, time & frustration.
