I love this place. I've been coming here with my family for years and we eat there at least once a week. My favorites are the spaghetti and meatballs or any of the 50's diner type meals. The chicken fried steak is huge and so tender you don't need a knife to cut it. I always get mine with mashed potatoes. I get the excellent brown gravy on the potatoes and country gravy on thr steak. Everything they do is homemade. The country gravy has bacon in it and the brown gravy tastes like their tender, juicy roast beef. You can also get a Midwestern classic called an open face roast beef or turkey sandwich. It's just meat, mashed potatoes, gravy and bread they make themselves. It's the ultimate comfort food.
The waitstaff has all been there for years and they know all the regulars. Our family favorite waitress is Teresa. She's fast, friendly and remembers what we drink and what we order.
Every dinner, the table gets a loaf of fresh baked sliced bread. I recommend asking for honey butter with it. If you get the salad bar, try the blue cheese dressing. It's not the watered down bottled stuff, it's the good stuff with actual cheese chunks in it.
The decor is half old school family Italian restaurant, half 70's diner. There's a grape arbor with fake plastic grapes in the main dining room and a vintage Pac-Man game in the lobby. For me, it's like a second home. I'm just comfortable whenever I go there.
