Newly opened location in Scottsdale, a city that has a Dunkin every other block on Scottsdale Blvd. The last time I had Dunkin was in Baahston, and it wasn't memorable. Coming back here a second time just made me realize that they have zero chance in hell in coming to California and beating our Cambodian-owned donuts.
My first problem with this DD started right off the bat.
1. You can't order donuts from the drive-thru. Inhale. THEY DON'T SERVE DONUTS AT THE DRIVE THRU. Fuckin' A. There is no excuse for this, it's like pulling up to McDonald's and not being able to get a burger. They serve all other kinds of uninteresting crap from the drive-thru, but not having the ability to serve donuts is just....nuts.
2. So I pull over and go in because I really wanted donuts and coffee for my drive back to L.A. Inside had plenty of seating and the decor cheerful. I LOLed at the "Friends Don't Let Friends Drink Starbucks" tee-shirt.
3. You think ordering donuts will be quick since there's no prep time. I was stuck in the line as if I were at In-N-Out. On the other hand, there were so many kinds of donuts and people took the time to stare at which donut glazed at them more. To me the choice boils down to this: Do I want chocolate today or not?
To the Boston Cream and Butternut donuts I ordered plus the Iced Coffee. The coffee sucked ass. It was a watery grave for cream and sugar. What makes a Butternut donut? I still have no idea despite that pork-rinds glaze on top. Boston Cream was OK.
Three stars because despite the ordeal, that stuff was only 3 bucks!
