Compared to the other options in the state st. area downtown, I would say Logan's is a good change of pace. It's certainly not as fantastic as Angelic was - the bar that previously occupied that space - but it definitely seems to draw a more diverse crowd than many of the downtown bars which are either full of hipsters or meatheads. The drinks are pricier than quite a few other downtown bars ($6/non-rail drink vs. $5 at Brothers), but they're quite a bit stronger than other places too.
There was plenty of room to move around and hang out with friends, and lots of seating indoors (and outside too).
I do think they need to figure out their waitress stand situation - the whole time I was there, people would stand at the bar around the waitress station (they're right on the bar) and then the bouncers would come around and move everyone out of the way. Once the bouncer would leave, the space would fill in again with people ordering drinks.
