| - Disappointed. Been going here for almost 1 year. Loved that this place was so close to home.
Called and told reception that I needed someone who works with short hair and undercuts. Apparently all they heard was 'undercut' and sang Chickie's praises, who works in the barbershop area of this location. All well and good.
My first haircut she messed up one of my sideburns so it was completely uneven. I gratefully noticed shortly after I left, so I returned and had her fix it. That should've been my first clue that I should look elsewhere, but I extend second chances.
I returned for nearly a year without much issue, but the quality of haircut seemed to vary every other month. This last time my hair is 1-1/2 to 2 inches LONGER on the left side than the right side. I didn't notice at first because of how it was styled when I left. Then I just thought it was my imagination when I first noticed it. Then I thought it wasn't THAT bad, so I thought I could live through it for a few more weeks... until yesterday when I finally acknowledged there was not any way to style it to 'hide' that my hair was INDEED nearly 2 inches shorter on the entire left side of my head. On top of which, it's only been 3-1/2 weeks since my cut and my hair is too heavy on the right side and too long on the left side. NOT HAPPY. I cancelled my next appointment and asked to come in for a haircut fix. But after having a NIGHTMARE about returning, I decided I'd rather pay for a haircut elsewhere than to return, so I'll be cancelling today's appointment.
I'm sure Chickie does well at MEN'S haircuts, but I have lost faith in her ability to do a woman's haircut. And with her rates going up in the past couple months, which I've been reminded of the last couple times I paid (they gave me the 'old' price but told me it would be the 'new' price next time), it's time to move on. I don't mind paying when I'm thrilled with my haircut, but I am FAR LESS THAN THRILLED. Moving on.
