You've got to hand it to an ice cream shop that stays open year round. That's normally a sign of a good product because it means they get the customers to make it sustainable! So here I am getting ice cream with my family in 40 degree weather.
This location is about 25 minutes from my family's home, so it's not a frequently-made trip but it's definitely a rewarding one. On this cold November day, there was no line and two girls inside helped us with our order. We left the stand with 5 quarts of ice cream and approximately $40 lighter. The price is higher than what I would like to spend on ice cream but you have to treat yourself every once in a while.
The ice cream is all of good quality. I was particularly found of one that I think was called Midnight Madness. It was a chocolate lover's dream. I wish Handel's had more locations so that I could try more of their flavors, but there are only a handful of properties across all of Pennsylvania.
