Beautiful grounds & rooms, but a few fatal flaws.
PROS:
-The gorgeous lush green grounds
-The Terrace room was newly remodeled, very clean and spacious (the bathroom especially--even a separate shower and standalone bathtub!)
-Onsite dining was delicious from the walk-in cafe to the sit-down restaurants
-High tea served in the afternoons
CONS:
-All 3 pools were small and unimpressive without enough seating (very dated)
-NO bathrooms at the pool. You have to trek back to your room..... hmmm, who wants to bet that some guests opt to pee elsewhere.....?
-Self parking is very far from the hotel
-The grounds are very large, and much walking in the hot AZ heat is required
OVERALL, this hotel is a historic gem and probably worthy of a visit, but there are many other lush hotels to choose from in the area if you plan to spend a lot of time poolside and you want to skip a lot of walking in the scorching heat.
