| - I'm definitely a cupcake fan - to the point of driving into Harlem for Make My Cake Red Velvet & German Chocolate, stalking Magnolia for their Espresso and Crumbs for their Elvis cake ... So relocating to Cleveland I didn't really think I'd find comparable flavors ... Wrong!!! I'd also passed Grandma Freda's booth in the WSM, thinking the cakes looked a little over-the-top --- too much icing, kid flavors, etc.
Grandma Freda, you had me at Salted Caramel ... I saw this flavor and figured I'd give it a try ... Bought 1 cupcake and regretted that decision after luxuriating in the moist chocolate cake, studded with bits of smooth, creamy and slightly salty caramel ... complemented by what turned out to be the perfect amount of caramel icing with the perfect tease of salt. As soon as I finished, I immediately wished I'd picked up some of the other flavors.
I've been back and agree with the other reviewers - Buckeye is great, Carrot is delicious, Espresso, had it once and am jonesing for it again, Red Velvet is good, German Chocolate, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Lovers ... We're working our way through the menu and sharing these with visitors and taking them back East to show off :-).
So happy I found Grandma Freda's and recommend other cupcake lovers give it a try.
