I walked around the festival this year and have to say they made some improvements. First, each food vendor is now required to sell at least one item made with Springs Farms strawberries. Yes, it is a way for Spring Farms to make more money, but it also shows that they have listened to feedback. Also, I saw plenty of recycling receptacles and they were the kind that are designed to prevent people from throwing non-recyclable trash into them. This shows that they also listened to that feedback.
I will say that the lines were long for almost everything from rides to port-a-johns to food vendors to the one ATM. The festival has definitely outgrown this space and it may be time to move it to a different location, such as the Anne Springs Close Greenway (notice the Springs name again here).
Also, they definitely need more security. They are strict about not bringing food or dogs in, but nobody checks for weapons. You probably saw on the news where a 14-year old pulled out a gun. Free events often draw riff-raff so it may be time to start charging. Speed Street used to be free until there was a shooting and since they started charging for it, there has yet to be an incident.
