While on a road trip to Pittsburgh, I found this storefront on the Strip. Little did I know that this was the first location for the company.
One of my favorite donuts in the world is a butterfinger. The donut company in Seattle that makes them inconsistently keeps them in stock so I'm often disappointed. I was so excited to find a butterfinger donut and also grabbed a samoa. They were so cheap and so good! Each had a character of its own. As others have mentioned, this is a cakey donut, which I love. I thought they would pull my donut from the case. I didn't realize that they hand dip them as you wait. Awesome!!! The outside was a bit crisp; the inside tender. I don't like super soggy donuts so this was the right texture for me. The toppings were complimentary but not overly sweet.
Staff members were friendly and helpful. When they saw a line form, someone else jumped in to help to keep things moving.
I'm back in Cleveland now and can't wait to visit another store in Ohio before I leave.
