| - I have been a regular for a year and a half and am a member of the "stein club." I work and live in the area and just love(d) the place. Great food, nice staff (though the recent crop seem a bit less friendly and engaged), and an awesome selection of beers. Great decor.
But...
There seems of have been a recent change to both the menu and ambiance. Some of my favourite items on the menu are either gone or changed. Whatever, I'll get over it.
But the other change, which will keep me away indefinitely, is that they have decided to crank up the music to create more of a "party" atmosphere. The net result of this is that, in many areas of the bar, it is pretty much impossible to carry on a conversation.
I complained to one of the staff and they said that the new, louder music is the policy of the owners, and that the staff are not allowed to turn it down.
Given that I go there after work, usually with colleagues, and I can no longer carry on a conversation when I go there, I won't be back.
Too bad. Used to be the best bar in the area by a long shot.
