It's been long enough since Amazon took over for me to venture into one of these (Frys Signature, AJs, and even Sprouts are fine alternatives to Whole Paycheck).
As I expected, prices are still impressively high but food options are still scrumptious.
My shock though, was the service - or complete lack of. Maybe it was the neighborhood? I dunno. This is that crazy, entitlement snottiness by a bunch of near minimum wage retail workers looking down on their customers - somehow feeling special because they work for a higher end retailer. Weird. Never really understood that.
Best part was the "customer service supervisor" who just stopped by the express check out and snapped "just give it to him!!!" at the poor clerk when a deli item didn't scan correctly. Nice. Free potato salad w/ a show (i think the plot line goes something like, "sad loser unsatisfied with his station in life behaves like jackass to poor retail subordinates until one day he discovers introspection").
