  • If you're looking for good laughs and something that is not your typical musical you need to go see The Toxic Avenger Monster Musical Comedy at the CLO Cabaret. It's a bout a nerd who turns into a New Jersey Super Hero! New Jersey? Yea New Jersey! My wife and I got complimentary tickets for the show through Yelp and this was our third time watching a show here. First of all if you have never been to a show at the CLO you need to try it out. The set up is not your typical theater seating. You are sitting at tables all around the floor area. It's almost like a bigger Improv layout. You can order food and drinks from a waiter or you can just get it from the bar in the back. If you're not into musicals and plays you can still like a show like Toxic Avenger. The actors are funny, they sing really good, and it's edgy! You won't be bored at all. If you like musicals but your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't they would probably like this still. Drag them out to this show and they won't be disappointed! I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing my parents to a show like this but this was perfect for my wife and I! The show is about two hours long with a brief intermission about three quarters through the show. If you didn't see the movie before that's ok because I didn't and my wife did. I thought the actors did a great job. It was a small cast and they played a lot of different parts. You could see how talented they really are. This show will be here until December 18th so make sure you set a date to see Toxic Avenger! Even if it's based out of Jersey!
