| - Good selection of fresh ingredients make for a good Medeterranian meal!
First, I like that this place isn't a chain. Many have compared it with Chipotle, because you build your email in a similar way. I would also say it's very much like Pita Bistro for the same reason. I think Pita Bistro has a greater variety, though.
Food:
My meal was very tasty. I built a bowl with gyro meat, glazed sweet & spicy carrots, classic hummus, and topped with feta cheese, mixed pickled veggies, and garlic aioli. Everything was fresh tasting. The gyro meat was good, but nothing exceptional, and the garlic aioli was quite strong, but good!
Cost:
With tax, my bowl was $8.71 - which is similar to other hummus & pita style places.
Also, I wanted to go low-carb, so I didn't want the rice that normally comes in the bowl. I was disappointed that they would not let me substitute another veggie to replace the rice.
Service:
When I arrived there was no queue, and the staff were friendly. I told them it was my first time there, and I was clearly undecided about what to get. But the staff didn't offer any suggestions, and didn't offer any samples to help me decide. I finally asked to sample one of the hummus, which they did, but they didn't offer any other samples. Last but not least, when I ordered my toppings I mentioned the garlic aioli, but was told tersely that wasn't a topping, it was a sauce. Really? Why the attitude?
Atmosphere:
This is a typical strip-mall shop, but smaller.
Overall:
I can see I'm in the minority with my 3-star review. They have an ok selection of ingredients and ok prices, but service wasn't up to par. I enjoyed my meal, so I might give it another try if I'm in the area.
