  • I never knew this place even existed until a Groupon deal caught my eye one day - $5 for $10 worth of smoothies. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal, so I decided what better way to try a new place than to try it without having to pay full price for something you aren't sure you would like? This trendy smoothie shop is located in the PATH, tucked away in the food court right next to St Andrews station (when exiting the subway, head towards the doors leading to Sun Life Financial building but just before the doors turn right towards a narrow path that leads to a smaller set of doors, opening up to a dark and dingy food court). I've walked by this place so many times but I never really noticed it. It's sandwiched in between some dental offices, and hair salons so it is sort of an odd place to be located especially since there is a food court just a little ways ahead. The shop is very small and narrow, there is no seating available so you are pretty much expected to order and go. The first time I went the staff member was really amicable and quite knowledgeable about the products. I explained to him that I had never been there before and he was very thorough when going through the drink selections and had some good suggestions for me. I ended up getting a meal replacement smoothie called the "Nutty". This beverage consists of chocolate almond milk, banana, apple, peanut butter, and honey. If you are a fan of peanut butter you will love this smoothie. It is so thick and yummy and definitely very filling. Very peanut buttery with subtle hints of banana and chocolate. I could barely taste the apple, except for maybe a slight after taste but otherwise this beverage is quite delicious. The second time I went I received the same level of service - very friendly and knowledgeable and quick with making the drink. I ordered the Voltage which consisted of coffee, banana, chocolate whey protein isolate, granola, and honey. This beverage was predominantly chocolate in taste and had that sort of protein bar after taste that you sometimes get with Lara bars or Cliff bars. Don't get me wrong, I found it to be quite delectable but some people may not be fond of those bars. I didn't really taste much of the coffee but I certainly had the side effects of someone that had lots of caffeine for lunch. It definitely provided the energy boost I required that day. Overall, I've had great service and delicious smoothies from this particular shop so far. The prices for the smoothies are around $6+ each which is fairly competitive with other healthy/energy smoothie places in Toronto. If you are looking for a smoothie to wake up or a meal replacement smoothie this place offers some excellent choices.
