  • This is the place for the shooter who must have it all. Indoor tac range, the private facility for members, walls full of stuff your husband will bring home in the trunk and hide from you until after he's shredded the credit card bill...it's all here. SGC gets a lot of favorable press, and all of it is warranted. The staff is very knowledgeable, and is patient with even the lowest skill level. Their paramount concern is safety and they offer courses in safe weapon handling at very competitive prices. They do push membership pretty hard, and many folks find that it is worth it...but that's pretty much a local thing. The location is such that if you don't live nearby, you aren't going to want to sit in the notorious Pima Freeway traffic to get to this place and take advantage of your membership. Ammunition prices here seem about the same as everywhere else, but I did note weaponry here was more expensive than at several other comparable stores. They used to offer discounts to members which would offset some of that (they may still, I forgot to check last time I was there) but you may still find a better deal elsewhere. So be sure to do your homework. The indoor ranges here are second-to-none, with quality air-handlers making it a much more pleasant experience than some of the older ranges. If you're looking to try a weapon out prior to buying it, you will absolutely find it here...the sheer volume of what they stock is incredible. The only caution The Mustache can offer is that you'll often find yourself elbow-to-elbow with That Guy in this store. You know who I am talking about. The guy in the tactical Oakleys who wears the tactical hat that says "POLICE" with the tactical drop-knee holster adorning his 5.11 Tactical pants that are held up by his tactical belt that helps tuck in his tactical shirt which conceals his tactical shoulder holster. We get it, dude, you're Rambo. So long as you're okay being you and not being intimidated by Rambo, you will love it here.
