  • First of all, let me make clear that this negative review is due to the unethical accounting practices of this office and parent company, Arizona Urology Specialists, PLLC, and not a reflection on the quality of care provided by Dr. Ken-ryu Han and medical staff. For the most part I was satisfied with my medical care and it is a shame that the accounting department ruined our doctor-patient relationship. I was seen as a patient at this office for about 6 months for treatment of a bladder condition in late 2014/early 2015. Throughout that time I inquired at every visit as to the status of charges covered by my insurance and what my financial responsibilities were. I made all payments on time as requested. Almost every time I went in the staff had a different story as to what insurance was paying and what I needed to pay. I never got consistent information. During a few of these visits while in the waiting room I heard a few other patients discuss payment dispute issues with staff and in hindsight I'm realizing that I am not the only patient to have these problems. Nevertheless, I made payments in full when required. At the end of my treatments I asked about my payment responsibilities and was told that I had satisfied my payment plan and was paid up IN FULL. Recently I started receiving bills from Arizona Urology Specialists in demand for payments that I already satisfied. Today my husband and I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with billing specialist Rosemary H. going through these charges and what I paid. During the conversation we got the same inconsistencies in facts and figures that I got when talking to staff at Canyon State Urology. After my husband and I listed all the payments we had made Rosemary said she did not have a record of a large payment we made. She asked for proof and we emailed proof of the charge on the bank statement. After showing proof of the payment that she said she had no record of she changed her story again and said that large payment was actually applied earlier in my treatment when earlier in the conversation she said it had not been. The facts and figures simply do not add up, and we feel we were deceived and overcharged. Because we were tired of being contacted about these charges, threatened with being sent to a collection agency and spending 2 hours talking to someone who changed her story along the way to fit the amount of additional money they wanted from us no matter proof we provided - we cut our losses and reluctantly made one more final payment. I would trust my medical care to Dr. Han, but I can not trust the accounting department with my money so I will never return to this practice.
