I just moved to Toronto and was looking for a new stylist. I saw Neptune on Groupon and since the salon is close to where I live, I went to check it out. I got there at 3:45 for my 4:00 appt, but when 4:00 came the hair stylist told me she was running late. I understand things happen and I wasn't in a rush so I waited. Finally at 4:45 she calls me over. I take my hair out of my ponytail and the first thing she tells me is I have a lot of hair and the Groupon I got doesn't cover the price to cut my hair. I was taken aback as I had just waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to be seen for a haircut and instead of apologising for the wait, the first thing she tells me is I have too much hair and it will cost more. I do have thick hair; it falls just below my shoulders, but it is certainly not abnormal for a women's hairstyle. She told me she would not cut my hair unless I paid $20 more. She then told me that no matter where else I go in Toronto, no one can cut hair as good as her.
I was looking for a hair stylist I felt comfortable with and this was not one of them. She made me feel unwelcome in her store to the point that I left afterwards without a haircut. It is not good customer service to make a client wait 45 minutes and then demand more money and claim no one else can provide a similar quality service. I do not recommend this place.
