Located in the newly opened Canada Square park in harbourfront, this unique shipping container turned food vendor is definitely a fresh face and welcomed change for the Harbourfront area.
I went on Canada Day weekend so I was surprised to see that there were no line ups at this food vendor as well as the 2 others next to it. I assume it is because not everyone is aware that the park has been opened and that eating options at the Harbourfront are no longer limited to just hot dog stands and pizza pizza.
I ordered the combo which consisted of 1 lobster roll, clam chowder soup OR a bag of chips, and 1 beverage of your choice totalling $16. I chose the chowder because I figured you get more value out of the soup than you would for a bag of kettle chips. I found the chowder wasn't as creamy as I would have liked it to be and could have been a little bit saltier. It wasn't that great in terms of flavouring but still edible. The lobster roll was a good size consisting of buttered bread (toasted) and chunks of juicy lobster! They did not over do it with the sauce/mayo which is good for lobster fans out there. I would have preferred more butter to sort of drown out the slightly bitter after taste but overall it was a good roll.
If you are looking to try something other than the usual hot dog and french fries stand this place is definitely one of the better food options in the Harbourfront area. It is pricey but considering the fact that it is lobster they are serving and it is also in a hot tourist area the $$ amount is expected.
Note: INTERAC accepted, opened until Thanksgiving/Fall (if the weather permits).
