| - I will literally never stop until this is made right. I hope my e-mail to them can sum up how I feel and serve as my review...
I truly hope this letter is more effective than my previous Customer Service online submissions. As telephone support has failed me repeatedly I hope you can at least reference notes from the time I have wasted with them.
August 31st, I called American Airlines with 2 vouchers I was provided in December of 2014 when our plane left us in a terminal with a newborn, due to mechanical failure. The vouchers read that I needed to book over the phone, and with the help of an American Airlines Rep I did just that. She asked me to mail my vouchers to Florida and once received my credit card would be refunded. I called today to check on my refund. I was told by a rep that they were electronic vouchers and that I was misdirected by first rep, fine. I asked that they just apply the voucher amount to my credit card purchase, but was told this was impossible. I was told I could still use my vouchers until December when they expire. SERIOUSLY? The vouchers I USED AND MAILED IN? I followed the instruction of American Airlines and I'm penalized. I spoke to a supervisor who wanted to re-book my flight, HAVE ME PAY AGAIN, and apply the vouchers. I would have to wait 2-10 days for the refund of my initial purchase. Clearly I cannot trust American Airlines to refund my money so I declined. This is completely unreasonable....I did nothing wrong! How can I be expected to pay twice for a flight and sit around for a refund. I will not do it. I expect this to be made right. I expect my voucher amount to be refunded to my credit card. Was anyone ever going to contact me? Or was American expecting me to just mail them in and forget? I now was directed the customer service feature on your website to write this complaint and did so 4 times, repeatedly being met by a message that this feature was down. I understand procedures in business, but I hope I am making myself clear that not a dime more will be paid to American Airlines in order to receive the voucher amount I am due. And NO, I in no way want another $50 voucher to apply to future travel. I cannot believe that was offered. I followed your instruction, please put an end to this and credit the voucher amount to my credit card as promised by American Airlines staff!
