They bait and switch at Alamo. They end up charging 30% more for stuff you never agreed to, but can't get out of because you're stuck with them at the last minute. We went with them because online they were the cheapest, but then were charged $30 extra on our $100 rental by the guy at the counter. When we showed that Hotwire easily allowed for the "driver" and the "credit card" holder to be 2 different people to book, as was our case, he insisted that both of us had to be listed as drivers and charged us for an extra driver. That had clearly been optional on Hotwire. (One of us doesn't even drive!)
Additionally annoying was he proceeded to "prove" to us he was right by taking time to show some tiny fine print on Priceline.com, even though I had said (and our confirmation showed) we had booked on Hotwire.com--which had a different set of instructions. There was a huge line up behind us, too!
There are also no instructions to find them at Pearson on the confirmation; and this company has little signage to show their existence to pick up or return (we just slowly followed general car-rental signage at Terminal 1). Probably difficult for non-Toronto people or those in a hurry.
The car was fine and the staff at the car pick up and drop off were fast, efficient and courteous.
