| - I entered Mi Patio looking to have an awesome Mexican lunch and I left Mi Patio wondering what I just ate. The options are generic Mexican dishes, flautas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. Being a simple menu with high ratings I figured the food would be spot on. I placed my order; fish flautas and a jamaica. Unfortunately they do not serve jamaica so that was substituted with water.
While I waited a bowl of chips and salsa were brought over. The chips were nice and thin, kinda that classic restaurant style but the salsa was very watery, mild in flavor, and not very appealing. The wait for my food was quite long for such a simple meal but it did eventually show up, and to my surprise it wasn't exactly "good".
The flautas were extremely dry, the fish was very much overcooked and almost as dry as the tortilla. The "pesto" was bland and added nothing to the dish, it was more a gimmick than flavor and it made absolutely no sense to have it there. The rice was seasoned so heavily with oregano that I couldn't taste anything else after having some the best part of the meal had to be the beans, because they were simply that, just beans.
I have to say "disappointment" is the only word to describe this place. It's no better than a Mexican fast food restaurant and in fact is a bit worse considering the long wait for food, the only real difference is the liquor license. There are much better options in the vicinity so unless it's you're only option take a hard pass.
