| - Man, I wish I'd had the same experience the other reviewers had. I bought a couples' massage coupon online after reading the stellar reviews, and off the fella and I went.
We ventured over on a Sunday afternoon and tried to overlook the "office" feel of the waiting room, but it was pretty crowded, and no one seemed to be in charge. The massage therapists were also the same people answering the phones, so it was pretty chaotic while we were waiting, which isn't the way I like to start my relaxing.
Our therapists introduced themselves, and off we went into the actual building where the couples' massage room was. We both had a quick discussion about our needs prior to the massage, which I appreciated, but my therapist was SO chatty during the massage. He wanted to talk about whether I breathe from my chest or my stomach, did I do any breathing exercises at home, what kind were they, and on and on. Man, I don't mind a quick "is this pressure okay?" during my massage, but after that, stop talking so I can relax. He also stuck his fingers inside my ears and hooked his hands under my armpits to do some sort of technique, which was super awkward and uncomfortable. I'm no massage expert, but it was weird. The fella said his massage was just okay, but nothing special.
After it was over, and we went back to the office to present our coupon, both therapists gave us a pretty hard sell on the membership and explained how they're losing "about $10,000" on the coupon deal they did. Um, that's not my problem, and I didn't appreciate that that was the last thing we experienced. I definitely won't be back.
