I booked a kids hair cut through Yelp for my 11 year old daughter. She wanted to go much shorter for the first time and I wanted her to get a good quality cut since I was already hesitant about the style she wanted. We got there about 15 minutes early and were not acknowledged. Waited until our appointment time, still not acknowledged. One of the two gals working finally asked if we were waiting for her. I told her we were waiting for Lina. She said she was Lina and was running behind but would get to us shortly. I felt uncomfortable and unwanted as customers. I really wanted to leave at that point, but my daughter was so excited about her hair cut I decided to stick it out.
When Lina finally took my daughter back around 35 minutes after our appointment time, she told me the cut would be $50. I told her I booked a kids cut and she said kids cuts were only for children under 10. That specification would have been great to know, but ultimately it was my fault for not verifying the price before we came in. I balked and she basically started talking down to me that this wasn't a Great Clips haircut and since it was a completely new style the price was justified. Mind you this is still an 11 year old girl. She continued to belittle me for quite some time all while justifying her prices. She did ultimately try and smooth things over by chit chatting with me, but the damage was unfortunately done. The cut ended up being very good quality. It falls very nice and has a great shape. I wish it would have started as a better experience. It is partly my fault for not verifying prices, but we should not have been ignored and I should not have been belittled and demeaned for ANY reason. They obviously do not need new clientele and I would not refer anyone there ever.
