When it comes to airlines in Canada (domestic) it seems we have few options. West Jet is terribly expensive, and Air Canada is one of my least favourite companies of all time. I decided to give Porter a chance on my recent flight over the holidays and I was very happy!
My only criticism would be that they should make it much clearer on email itineraries that you must go to the Toronto Island airport, not Pearson (this would have saved me a $50 cab ride...). When I did get to the correct airport I was extremely surprised to see coffee (decent coffee I might add), water, pop, juice and snacks offered free to all passengers in the waiting lounge. In Canada we pay obscene prices for flights, so it's nice to get a little something extra and be treated nicely.
They also offer a small meal, beverages and free wine/beer on the plane - a very nice touch! Even though I didn't have any alcoholic beverages on the plane, it was great that it was offered to us.
Over all I would recommend this airline to people. Pearson airport is one of my least liked airports, whereas the Billy Bishop airport is stress-free and easy to navigate. It's a bonus Porter only flies out of this airport!
