  • Unfortunately, after trying Samy's twice, I cannot recommend this place to any pet lover. I recently relocated to Henderson and was referred to Samy's by a neighbor. I took our dog to Samy's the first time for a bath/haircut and the second time for a nail trim. Both times I found the staff to be unfriendly and they didn't listen to very basic instructions on what we wanted for our dog (including filing the nails as opposed to cutting them, which our prior groomer did without a problem for a year). Since I was referred to Samy's and we're new to the neighborhood, I gave this place a second chance with the nail trim, but after hearing the dog yelp in pain when they cut one of her nails too short (again after being told to only file them), we will not be going back. Our dog is a rescue and on the small side (9 lb Chihuahua) so she's particularly shy around new people anyways. However, given the unfriendly atmosphere of Samy's, we'll definitely be finding a new groomer. To their credit (and for the sake of a fair review), I do like that the dogs are free to run around and don't have to be placed in kennels. So, for anyone that has a dog that is sensitive to being in a kennel for a long length of time, this may be a place you would want to check out. On balance, it just won't work for us.
