This was my first visit to a cidery and I confess, I had my doubts, but the drive from Toronto was easy enough and the place looked so calming as we pulled up - like a retreat - so I felt ready for a new drinking experience. It was before the regular lunch menu took effect but we could get flights of cider and slices of pizza. The pizza was right out of the brick oven and was delicious (my mouth is watering thinking about it now). The "long" flights of cider that we had were interesting and each cider was as the server explained different moving from subtle to bold. For me, someone who doesn't really care for sweet wines, this was a jump into a new range of tastes. They were good, very good, but I still prefer drier wines (and maybe a cider if I ever find one). I am glad we found this little gem, which in addition to the restaurant and tasting room, has a wide variety of food and related products in their store - BTW it is in a building built of straw - pretty neat for us city-slickers! You could huff and puff, but you are not going to bow this house down Mr. Wolf! But you might just step through the door and have a pleasant meal with some light and crisp cider!
