I was next in line for checkout when the elderly man who had just checked out announced that he couldn't find his wallet. The cashier Amanda said, "Check your pockets again, honey," as she began searching around the register. "No, not in my pockets." Amanda continued the search, and the customer behind and I joined in. His wallet had fallen into his shopping cart among his groceries. Amanda wished him well and returned to checking out customers. It was heart warming to be in a store where ringing the register and collecting money took the back seat. The elderly man was of primary importance. I'm an Aldi customer for life.
