| - Gotta love Trader Joe's. Though I would never buy sushi there (where was it made, California?), the selection of healthy, organic, and gluten free foods is excellent. My most recent trip there was to find dried apricots for a friend, but I ended up getting a bit more than that. Found a lovely Portuguese white wine that I just had for my birthday last week, perfect. It had a bit of effervescence but was light and somewhat sweet. And very cheap (about 6 bucks?). Also bought red, white and blue tortilla chips and some gluten free corn pasta. Also found they have a gluten free flourless chocolate cake in their bakery, which I made sure to mention to mom (also had for birthday). Most gluten-free things are labeled with a green circle with a g on it, and the products themselves also bear the g if they are so. Pretty much everything you buy there is awesome.
Except.....
Well, this is why I can't give TJ 5 stars. Every time I have bought cheese there, it has gone moldy. Not blue cheese, either. This time it was Havarti, and I knew I shouldn't but I bought it anyway and then it got moldy a few days later. I have bought cheese there and had it go moldy the next day, really. I am not sure why, but maybe it is the saran-wrap packaging rather than some vacuum sealed plastic. While it is nice to get fresh cut cheese, almost all of the time for me it ends up moldy. So be wary of purchasing cheese there.
That said, Trader Joe's is great and fun, just be prepared for all the other people who find it that too.
