| - Absolutely the BEST meal ever! My husband and I go to Vegas every year and try out different restaurants while we are there. Most restaurants we find are overpriced for what you get and overrated. Not the case here. We read reviews online, and several locals we talked to also said Alize was known for really great food. This was our first time at Alize, and this will be one restaurant that we will return to.
Warning...it is expensive. But worth every penny in our opinion. The food was amazing, service was outstanding, and most of all the view was stunning (we made reservations around sunset time and it was dark by halfway through our meal so we had a wonderful view of the city lights.)
We chose the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings, and it was more than enough food for me, and my husband was full by the end of the meal too. (He did finish some of my courses/wine for me.)
The wines were perfectly paired with each course and the food was delicious. First course was the crab-stuffed piquillo pepper...so good. Then the spinach salad with duck confit topped brioche with a sunny-side up quail egg...presentation was beautiful and dish was terrific. Then came the Dover Sole and that was followed by the Veal with crispy sweetbreads and green onion fondue. All outstanding. Then the dessert course: 3 mini portions of their best desserts. My favorite was the cheesecake wrapped in caramelized phyllo with a sour cherry sauce. And I am not a big cheesecake fan, but this was to die for!
If you don't do the tasting course, get the Dover Sole. It's their signature dish and it will not disappoint. Neither one of us would have ordered it (because who craves dover sole?), but one bite and we were hooked! It was amazing.
Our server was Juan Augustino and he was the BEST!! Extremely helpful, very attentive, and he made excellent suggestions.
This is our new fav restaurant in Vegas.
