| - My 6 month old cavapoo stayed here for a weekend, Friday to Sunday. One of the main reasons we chose this place is because they're open for pick-ups on Sunday's. A lot of boarding places won't let you pick up on Sunday, which forces you to pay for an extra day bc they're closed. So the fact that we could pick up 7 days a week was a selling point for us. The rooms are very nice too. They're actual rooms with glass doors and not cages. D PETS says it will do whatever your instructions are. So if you want your pet eating 3 times a day, they feed him 3 times a day. If you want him to get a snack, he gets his scheduled snack..
They actually picked my baby up from our house when we weren't there and everything went smoothly without incident and they locked the doors behind them. I believe the charge is 1 dollar a mile, and we live 10 miles, so that was reasonable.
One thing I didn't really care for was the fact the dogs played and potty'd in the same area all day. From 6am-noon and then like 1-6pm. There's always guys there to clean up the pee and poop right as it happens, so they say. The other thing I didn't like was the fact that they don't have video cameras in the rooms or play areas that you can log onto remotely to see your pet. I've seen other boarding places do this and I think that would be a really great and helpful feature for a nervous pet owner wanting to check if their baby was doing ok. This place is pricey and kind of geared towards luxury, so you would think the video feature would be a capability they offered. They did however send me photos on Saturday of him and to be honest, he looked pissed!!! I know that face and he did NOT look happy. It made me sad, so I called and talked to the girl at the front desk. I asked her why he looked so pissed in the pictures, and she assured me everything was just fine. Idk, it just gave me a bad feeling and I couldn't wait to get him home and give him a bath. That's the other thing, other boarding places include a bath upon departure, but at D PETS, that's an extra cost starting around 35 dollars....all in all, Maui seemed to have a good time there, so that's really al that matters. He came home wore out and exhausted from all the playing which made us happy! :) thanks for lookin after my boy.
