The salesman, Joe, was patronizing, condescending, and tried to pressure me into buying shoes that were far more expensive than I was willing to purchase. He made me feel as if it were the 1950s again and I was one of the "ladies who lunch" by insisting on calling me by my first name over and over and over. I had to insist that he remove the $400 shoes that he had brought out on his own from my feet (the pair I had asked to try on were $100). He suggested that I not wear my custom-made prescription orthotics, because it made fitting my feet more difficult (that's why I was at that store). He also insisted that I wear an 8, then sold me a 7 1/2 that he had to pad in order to keep from falling off. I suspect that he did not have the shoes in a 7 and was determined to make a sale. My friend swears by the store, so possibly other salespeople provide better service. If you get Joe -- run, run like the wind.
