  • I went into the shop to try out a fat bike and get advice about potentially buying one. Doug, the owner was informative and very helpful. I rode professionally for a few years, so I know my way around bikes and bike shops and often bike shop staff can be snotty and patronizing - but there was none of that here. I never mentioned my experience - for all he knew I was a beginner (I hadn't brought any cycling gear on this trip! I had to borrow a helmet and ride in running shoes and without a chamois). Still, Doug treated me like gold and took time to try to set me up on the bike correctly and recommend some trails in McDowell. He also knew virtually every cyclist who came into the shop by name and was friendly to all. I would highly recommend this shop whether you need a rental, want to purchase, or just get advice about the trails.
