| - Well, I've lived in the area for two and a half years and never got around to eating here until just recently. I expected no frills, I figured it'd be, well, deep fried or baked breaded fish and fries. I was right, of course. My mom fed us a lot of fish sticks as a kid and I enjoyed it back then but that was a couple decades ago, I've learned to eat .. better? Anyway, I still wanted to try it out, so I did. I got the Seafood combo and dined there on the outside patio. They didn't offer me a fork, I had to ask for it. Then I realized they didn't offer me a napkin, I had to ask for that. Then I realized they didn't offer me ketchup, and when I asked for it they said "No." I had this red sauce though. Worked fine for the fries, wasn't too weird.
The food was very hot, perfectly crispy. The fish filet .. uhh, looked like a little fish brick with uncomfortably perfectly square angles. The shrimp .. I dunno, maybe I got a good batch because there was plenty of shrimp meat in mine, as opposed to the other reviewers here. The fish, on the other hand, was probably 30% fish meat and 70% batter. No biggie. The fries weren't soggy like the other reviewers said, they were crisp and even a bit firm. Overall, I thought this was spot on what I was expecting, maybe just a tiny smidge better in taste and as much of a smidge worse in fish fillet meat.
I was impressed by the number of items on the menu; I was surprised to see burgers and other non-seafood options listed. So many exaggerated hamburger names, yet no description of any of them. I took a mental note to consider trying one of them, but someone posted a picture of it here and someone else a review, and, well, nevermind.
So, yeah. Come for deep fried greasy battered food, if that's your thing. If it is indeed your thing, I mean, that's what this is, so it's pretty good.
