| - We visited Prado for their NYE event while visiting Scottsdale. They had a deal for a four-course prefix menu (vegetarian options available), champagne (one bottle per couple), and dancing/party favors for $125 per person (plus gratuity and taxes). Out of all the NYE events in the area, this one seemed best in terms of price and festivities.
The restaurant is beautifully set behind the grand fountain at the Omni Hotel. The indoor space is large and it seemed trendy but not too crowded early in the evening.
Dinner: For the first course we got a Moroccan lentil soup, which was tasty and rich. We then moved onto to an arugula and date salad, which was small but delicious. For the main course, there were 2 options. The gnocchi was amazing- smooth and silky, and the pasta was melt-in-you-mouth good! The quinoa lasagna on the other hand was quite lackluster. It had too much of a raw feel without enough flavor. For dessert we got the key lime pie and chocolate cake. Both were great, but the key lime pie won by a narrow margin.
The champagne bottle was top-shelf (Verve) and a live band played the night away. We toasted the new year with party favors and a sea of balloons falling from the ceiling in the center of the dance floor. The dancing area was definitely crowded and we felt there wasn't enough space for the number of people there.
All-in-all a pricey dinner (over $150 per person), above average food, but a great experience! If we were to do it again, it would have been better to have dinner elsewhere and then visited Prado for drinks, dancing, and NYE favors later in the night.
