  • I LOVE this library and all libraries in general. I've come here far too many times than I have actually "checked-in" on Yelp. The Lakewood library on Detroit Ave. is clean, big (plenty of tables and chairs to study), and has a variety of books to borrow. I especially love going into the computer lab to use the computers and print. Every library member gets to print 20 free pages to print everyday so that is definitely a nice feature. The pages are only black and white (not colour) so that is slightly a downfall. I have yet to attend a movie screening and related library events but I will SOON. Overall, you should visit this location. The only downside of this library is that I wish I could bring my own bottled water or tea but this library doesn't allow food or drinks inside which is understandable. It is just frustrating that I have to get up off my desk every 10 mins just to sip water from the water fountain. Most libraries that I know of allow you to bring drinks in a closed container but I've been stopped my staff members here for drinking out of my water bottle. I am normally very careful with my drinks in terms of not spilling it over so I wish there was a way that the Lakewood Library can change this policy. I like to be comfortable as I read a book or study so having water by my side would help. I guess if I plan to be at the library all day then I will attend a school library where snacks and drinks are allowed (depending on the school). Rating: 4 stars
