| - I see many negative reviews here, and while I am sorry to hear about the problems many people feel they have had with Omni Dermatology.
It seems to me that many of the negatives are because of insurance issues outside the control of the doctor himself. There were a few reviews that discussed nurse practitioners and some of the other staff. I won't disagree with those one bit. Some of his staff, especially his practitioners need some better training in practice, patient, and people skills.
Those people are not why I am writing this review. Dr. Racette is the reason I am writing this review. I fully discussed my 25+ year history, vices, lifestyle, and withheld nothing so that together we could come up with the right treatment for my condition.
Dr. Racette, for me, is the one of the best dermatologists I have ever let into my life to be my skin doctor. I interviewed over 8 doctors before settling on Dr Racette because he understood and studied my rare and uncurable skin disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I will only see him when I schedule an appointment with Omni Dermatology.
He may not be the right doctor for everyone and every skin problem, but for me he is as close to perfect as I could hope. I will miss him when I eventually leave Phoenix and I will likely continue to fly back to Phoenix just to follow up with him.
Given the Phoenix metro area's lack ability to retrain great doctors, and the fact that he splits his time amongst multiple offices, and participates actively in the dermatological community. He is a very busy man. This may be a reason for some of the negative reviews. He's often double and triple booked for his days and deals with many people who have severe life impacting and crippling problems, like myself.
He has always made time to help me in cases of emergency and pushed his patient schedules to help clients he has a history with, like myself, get back to a normal life. This may be why some people who like to complain have had negative experiences or cancelled appointements. He actually prioritizes the some of the patients he sees based off how severe there problems can be at the moment.
If you are looking for a doctor to prescribe you things you don't need and send you away. He can be that person, and that was your decision to use a DO that way and waste his skills.
For me, I could not have asked for a better doctor.
