  • I was craving lox so I made my first trip to Scott's Generations. Got there at 12:30pm on a Sunday and it was super quiet, just about five other people in there. The setup is classic diner/deli; leather booths, good American easy listening/classic rock playing in the background. I can see how some people might say the place is dirty but if you've ever been to a NYC deli...it's not anything shocking or out of the ordinary. Didn't bother me at all. I ordered the L.E.O Special - lox, eggs, onions and a bagel. The board menu can be a bit overwhelming with tons of options, so I was glad I took a look at the menu before I got there. Ordered my food to go and it was ready in 10 minutes. BUT - the black and white cookies are fake. The icing is that store bought crap just spread on the cookie. Any true b&w cookie connoisseur will be able to tell just by looking at them that they won't taste the same as the real deal. I tried just to make sure and was correct. Overall I was satisfied with the food and experience. Not amazing, but not horrible. I'd go back - not a lot of places to find lox here. And they have Knishes. I'll try that next.
