| - I am an alumni of First Good Shepherd. The building and location might not impress you but the teaching staff are amazing. They love and care for their students while teaching an advanced curriculum. Children get to learn about Jesus every day, not only through specific religion classes, but by how they are treated and expected to treat others. On top of the advanced curriculum, students have the opportunity to participate in many "specials" like computer class, choir, handbells, sports, etc.. PE and art class are still a part of each classes schedule, even though public schools have cut funding for programs like those. FGS doesn't have to teach to a state-mandated test so that allows teachers to delve deeper into subjects. FGS also does a good job of offering family events for parents and kids to do fun things together, like the fall carnival, daddy-daughter dance, etc. I might have graduated awhile ago, but FGS will always feel like home to me.
