  • We came down for a visit from North York on a Sunday after hearing rave reviews from friends. Now, there are TONS of indoor playgrounds a reasonable driving distance from North York, so my expectations may be higher than someone located in Leslieville or the Beaches, but I thought it was just OK. The playground is well designed and has lots of fun activities for infants and toddlers, but is a little tame for older kids. Free Starbucks coffee is on offer (and tea) which is a nice perk. But, the playground is pretty small, and it was PACKED. We got there at 9:15am on a Sunday and there were already an overwhelming number of parents and kids - we're talking long lines for the slides and trampolines and lots of conflict over turn taking. The real reason we won't be back is the parents. I don't know if it was just the time we were there, but the helicopter parenting was INTENSE and it really stressed me out. My kids are very well behaved and (as twins) pretty good at age 2.5 with sharing and turn taking, but they were never allowed to work these issues out with other kids. Parents were stepping in and taking over immediately every time, and I got lots of stink eye for not doing the same. Note that I was always in arms reach of my kids - I wasn't on my phone ignoring things, I just think parents need to chill out and let kids interact and only step in when asked for help or if it's a safety concern. But I felt like all the adults were either judging or worrying about being judged. My kids enjoyed their time there, but I didn't due to the crowding, especially the number of adults, so I won't be buying a pass or making it a regular stop for us since we have other options. The first visit is free, which is great, but it's street parking. The snack area is quite small, but the bathrooms/change spaces are a decent size. One thing that was really good was the cleanliness - you can tell they care about that aspect a lot, which is nice too. Overall, if you live in the 'hood this is probably a good option, but it's not worth travelling to in my opinion.
