| - I am not surprised that this center has so many bad reviews. Arrived at 7:30pm and wasn't released until almost 3am. $1,000 and after reading some of the reviews, I am pretty sure some of what we paid was unnecessary. The long wait was upsetting and we didn't see our cat the ENTIRE time. The highway robbery excessive money we spent is upsetting. But I could deal with all of that until they FINALLY brought out kitty back to out to us. He looked awful! Traumaitized, covered in his own feces (are you kidding me!!!!!) and still had the super tight tape around his paw from the IV (aren't they supposed to do that?!) I have NEVER had my pet returned to me from my vet or other MUCH better vet emergency facilities in such poor condition. How dare them. Especially after we paid $1,000! After reading other reviews and seeing how much other poor pet owners have paid here, it looks like we got off easy. After we returned home, I called the vet (now after 3am) to complain about how out of it and how bad our cat looked. I asked her if they gave him too much sediative and she actually told me that they do it by "effect" and that it was taking a lot to calm him, so they kept increasing it. I can't imagine what our poor kitty was put through as we sat up front for hours waiting and waiting and waiting. I responded it that they should do it by weight...not effect!!! She then assured me that his sedation was within the safe limits. Now I know why we were there for SEVEN hours. Because they were back there alternating between ignoring him and then going back to our poor baby to keep increasing the seditive until they had the "effect" they wanted. Well, they had him drugged all right, yet they couldn't return him to us cleaned and with the IV tape off. Don't they know how to deal with stressed and scared cats? Aren't these people professionally trained to deal with cats? Thank goodness my wonderful vet was in today and will take it from here, because by the time we checked out, I told the front desk that I was NOT feeling confident about the care our sweet poor boy received, the manner it was given (or not given) as you don't see or hear your pet once they take him or her back, so the owner has NO idea how the pet is being treated. And please to the business owner who responds to these emails, save it. Don't waste your typing. Your facility overcharges, has an excessive and ridiculous wait time, has a staff that is questionable and the worst offense of all...returned out pet to us in an unacceptable condition. I worked with a emergency vet hospital several years ago in Tempe and the experience was 100% the exact opposite of this place. All went well and they had to sedate our cat at that place, too. The bill was less, our kitty was returned to us clean, comfortable and treated well. Beware if you take your pet here. Also, this is the first bad review I have ever written here. I am the type of person who likes to write good reviews and will sing the praises of an organization who is professional, treats their customers well and has a good team in place to take care of business. This is not that place and it is quite disturbing since this place cares for animals. So sad to write this. So disappointed. So disheartened that our kitty was traumatized at this place. He is doing very well now that he is back in our care and in the care of the best vet in the world, Dr. Mackenzie at Foothills Animal Hospital. So thankful that we have a good vet and will look for another vet ER facility for future emergencies, as we will NOT return here. Ever.
