There's something very appealing about La Rocca Creative Kitchen - from both the perspective of the place and the goodies it sells. When you enter the store, it's all austere elegance - very spacious, tables spaced generously apart, simple decor, and an immaculate kitchen taking up half of the place. And because of this, it takes you a second to realize this minimalist environment actually houses lots of fun bursts of colour. Because as you look more closely at the display counter, you see all types of creative and crazy goodies that La Rocca serves:
- Different types of full-sized cakes, ranging from those that are heavy with chocolatey fudgey goodness to those that are light and dainty with Parisian artistry and cream.
- Smaller (personal sized) cakes that play around with the shapes (for example, we had one shaped like Chicken Little) and are a delight to look at and wolf down.
- Cupcakes and macarons of all colours and flavours.
We eagerly sat down and had ourselves the different goodies. The cakes (we ate 2 there and took 1 to go) were really well made, light and fluffy without losing the oomph of sugary goodness. Where we were a bit disappointed was with the macarons (a tad dry/crumbly) and hot chocolate (tasted a bit watered down... though this may be because of all the sugar I had with the cakes). But all in all, La Rocca Creative Kitchen was a definite (visual and tasty) treat!
