Part of the Mint Museum in uptown Charlotte. For regular folks, uptown in Charlotte would be known as downtown.
Very nice glassed in restaurant that offers unusual items, arty presentations (no surprise for an art museum) and comfortable seating that looks out and down on Tryon Street. Just come in the museum front entrance by the gift shop and take the escalator upstairs to this loft-perched cafe/restaurant.
There were three of us catching up on a long-time-no-see chance to get together. It was lunch. Coffee is very rich and strong so eating something, like the Trio Snack is great. We had the snack along with an olive bowl and eggplant baba. Nice munchies allowing conversation to flow without being gross with an open mouth.
The lunch plates were a farmer lunch, trout salad and grouper salad. Those salads were the meat with salads, not all one pile of food in a bowl. The meals have a gourmet touch to them. They are and certainly appear to be prepared by a professional kitchen. This ain't no fast food joint by any means.
A little pricey, but well worth it in quality, presentation and ambiance. A very nice place for a romantic rendezvous? Yep. Only problem is that if you are sneaking around keep in mind that you are sitting in a cage of glass open to anyone walking by.
Great place to go if you are uptown or, especially if you are visiting either of the two museums that are side-by-side.
Parking is in a city lot directly across the street. Very convenient.
