Was craving pastries and cake today so we went over to Thobor's on Mt. Pleasant. Unfortunately it was closed being Canada Day and all. Drove over to Bayview and found this little establishment. My girlfriend got the Montelimar, I got the Bacarra and we shared a Almond croissant. The croissant was pretty solid, plenty of marzipan. The outer was flaky but not too dry at all. Quite happy with it, but that's where the positive experience ends. The Montelimar tasted freezer burnt and was obviously old. For the price they charge for an individual little cake, this is a joke.
The bacarra tasted even more stale than the last. I don't know how they can consider this an acceptable practice. While the presentation and service were both above par, the final product was well below. Very unfortunate as there are many other shops in the city that won't sink to this level. I will not return
The only reason they get 1 star is because I cannot give any less. That they would sell these items at full price, let alone, sell at all is bad business. These items should be thrown away
