Never - I mean NEVER - choose these electricians. My report refers specifically to the Mr Sparky located in Tempe but any Mr Sparky will all rip you off because they are a nationally franchised chain and adhere to uniform pricing policies. I had a breaker in my property that needed changing because it was tripping. The Mr Sparky tech arrived and proceeded to examine my main and sub panels. He located the tripping breaker but proceeded to tell me that my home had an electrical fault which was causing the tripping and proceeded to provide me with a "menu" of "member" and "non member" prices which attempted to lock me into a NINE HUNDRED DOLLAR tab to locate and repair the fault. He said he would waive the cost of the call out ($79) as well as the cost of changing out the breaker (as yet undisclosed). I said I would need to do a little comparison shopping. He immediately said "oh well, independents will charge you less but not do as good a job". I declined his offer and asked him to bill me for what he did and no more. He started to ask me how much I was willing to pay and at this point knew the type of business I was dealing with. He charged me a few pennies shy of $300 to change the breaker and of course I knew then and there that I was being ripped off but could do nothing about it except expose Mr Sparky in Yelp, Ripoff report, etc which I am gladly proceeding to do. Mr Sparky: I hope enough people write about your underhanded tactics to put you out of business.

I originally wrote this report with 1 star, and I am keeping my original comments - because everything I said still stands regarding the original call-out..HOWEVER...I wrote to Mr Sparky's regional manager expressing my dissatisfaction and he very promptly responded and asked me whether there was something that could be done to improve my experience. I asked if I partial refund could be given to offset the very high original cost. I said that I would not expect to pay more than $150 for a call out for a breaker change. He promptly responded and said a credit would be issued, which it was, and tried to explain the higher than market costs.
So I credit Mr Sparky with excellent customer relations/customer service and that makes me feel a lot better about the company - and I have lifted from 1 to 3 stars. But the original issue of the pricing still remains, which is why I cannot go higher than 3 at this point. Were their pricing to come down to reality, then the overall rating would go up even more.
