I was recommended to Dr. Harter by one of my friends who had a wonderful experience with him delivering her son who is now older! I was very excited to see him but what I thought would be an amazing experience was far from it. From what I have heard Dr. Harter used to make time for his patients but now it's more of a money game. You wait for over an hour only to see your doctor for under 5 minutes. That never bothered me too much because I figured if there was anything to tell me then he'd let me know. Well, fast forward to my 18 week ultrasound, they discovered I had complete placenta previa. I was never made aware of this. I continued through my second trimester going to the gym and being active on a daily basis. When I hit 28 weeks, I started bleeding and instantly went to the emergency room. They asked if I had any known conditions and naturally I said no so they released me. The following Monday I went for an appointment with my doctor and I told him what happened. He asked if I told them about my complete previa and I informed him I was not aware of this condition because he never told me about it. Well, that visit was yet again only 5-8 minutes and he hardly provided me with any information. I didn't know what questions to ask because I didn't know what it was. I was yet again rushed out so he could move on to the next patient. I was very disappointed in what had happened and was left to my imagination as to all the bad things that could be going on with my baby. I am currently in my 32nd week and I've switched doctors. My new doctor gave me all the information I could possibly need about placenta previa. She even referred me to a high risk specialist, which, apparently, Dr. Harter should've done a while back. I angers me to know that something horrid could have happened to me and my son during my second trimester all because Harter failed to inform me I was a high risk patient and have a complete previa. That could have been life threatening and I'm very lucky that nothing worse occurred with how active I am. I definitely wouldn't recommend Harter. Maybe back in the day we was better at what he did but now he doesn't seem to care. Oh, on last thing. He said he was going to give me a c section at 39 weeks which is a big risk with placenta previa! Doctors want to take the baby out sooner that way your risk of going into labor is lower. If you go into labor with placenta previa you can bleed out and that's what they want to prevent. Knowing Harter wanted to wait till 39 weeks is scary. It shows he didn't mind risking the life of me and my son.
