  • I have stayed at several Doubletree Hotels, which are usually very nice, though this one in particular did not meet the set standards. I made reservations for this hotel well in advance of my stay, and even called a few hours before arrival to ensure that our room was ready and open. I drove through the night and got to the hotel at about 3:00 am, so all I wanted was to get to sleep. However, the hotel changed my room from two queen size beds to one king. I was there with 3 other people, so this was not satisfactory. The receptionist said that they would send up a cot for one of the people to sleep on. They never did. The room itself was in fairly poor condition. The sliding bathroom door even fell off of its track. The room was small, only slightly larger than the bed. For those of us that actually got to sleep on the bed, it was very comfortable. The Hotel changed our room for us the second day. This room was extremely spacious, and in better condition than the one from the previous night. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Others were a bit rude and lacked utility. The location is okay; within walking distance of several museums and the hospital. The nightlife in the area left much to be desired. Some of the bars in the area were sketchy. On checkout, the manager refused to refund any of the cost, though did give me free parking for one night and breakfast vouchers for the four of us, though I did not have time to eat a meal in the morning anyway.
