| - REI is the place to go when for all things outdoors. They have a wide selection to meet your needs, and your budget ranging from their store brand, to any other you may be looking for.
REI brand clothing is of great quality, if you're questioning it. And it may fit your budget a little more. I've purchased some base layers and they are not only comfy, but do the job to keep me warm.
Extremely knowledgeable staff are around and if they don't know the answer to your question, then they will find someone who does. They will work with you to help you find what you're looking for.
Throughout each month they host classes, taught by the knowledgeable staff mentioned above, ranging in hiking, boot basics, knot tying, biking, etc. All available on the website. Some are free, some are paid classes, but if you're a member, the cost is a little lower than non-member. I enjoy attending the classes, though it may be an area I have no experience in, staff are more than willing to break things down, so you leave with a better understanding. And the classes are also fun and hands on!
Also, with membership, you get a dividend at the end of the year. Pretty cool!
